Praia
do Carvoeiro is probably the prettiest village in the Algarve. It has earned a
reputation for being both unpretentious and cosmopolitan, and has attracted a
highly international population. Many professionals, including British, German
and Dutch doctors and dentists have made Carvoeiro their home. Aside from its
natural beauty, this charming village offers several beaches, two of the finest
golf courses in Europe, and superior tennis clubs, as well as an exceptional
variety of restaurants. An international school and a new marina are close by
and Faro airport is 60 km away.
By visiting the Algarve you
will be touched by the magic of its countryside, beaches and people. As a
destination and a residence, the Algarve offers great advantages over other
similar regions in Europe.
It is impossible to find a
more hospitable nation than the Portuguese. Whatever your nationality, the local
inhabitants welcome newcomers to their country, its culture and its beauty. The
majority of the Algarvians speak English as a second language.
The Algarve is a strip of
coastal land in the south of Portugal and faces the Atlantic Ocean on two
sides. Its terrain varies from the many sandy beaches to the low mountains of
the hinterland that separates it as a province from the rest of Portugal.
Because of its location at the tip of Europe its climate is moderate and it can
justly claim that it enjoys the most unpolluted air on the continent.
The cost of living is
inexpensive and there are many shopping facilities providing both imported goods
and local produce. A large variety of restaurants offer
good and reasonably priced food complimented by a range of equally inexpensive
good wine. Fresh fish can be enjoyed within a couple of hours of being caught!
With its temperate climate
the Algarve offers the sportsman the opportunity to enjoy their golf, tennis,
riding and beach life throughout the whole year.
